We are almost there!

Hello Maple friends and family!
We are almost finished with our Fall into Giving fundraising campaign and we have some exciting news to share. To date we have raised $3,600 of our goal of $5,000!! Thank you to all who have generously donated to our children's education.
We KNOW we can reach our goal by the end of this week. We need YOUR help!
Two things you can do to help:
1) Please consider making a donation today. Click here.  You can also bring a check or cash to the front office.
2) Copy the email below to friends and family: If you would like to help raise more support, we have pasted a draft letter below that you can use. This can be copied into an email and sent to your family and friends asking them to please consider making a gift in support of your child's school. This only takes a few moments and could get us to our goal!
Sincerely with gratitude,
Your Maple PTSA
We are fortunate to send our child(ren) to Maple Elementary, a diverse school of learners who benefit greatly from a supportive and caring community of teachers, parents and family members.

The school's Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) recently kicked off "Fall into Giving" - our first fundraising campaign. This effort is intended to raise the resources essential to creating a learning environment that is positive, safe and productive, and we need your help! Funds will support enrichment programs, class field trips and additional supplies for our teachers.

We are reaching out to friends and family to help with this campaign, and as you consider your year-end giving we hope you include Maple Elementary PTSA. You can make a gift here at the PTSA website via PayPal, or you can mail a check/cash to:

Maple's Fall into Giving Campaign Kick-off!

Dear Maple families, friends and supporters:

The Maple PTSA  is launching its 1st  Annual Giving Campaign.
Our goal is to raise $5000!
Your donation matters!
We urge every family to make a donation of any amount. By doing so, you help strengthen our school community and enrich every child’s school experience. Every dollar given goes directly to programs that support the 502 students, teachers and staff at Maple Elementary.

Your financial contributions support the following and much more:
  • Improved recess activities with more adult involvement to promote student engagement & problem solving
  • Teacher professional development & reimbursement for classroom supplies purchased with their own money
  • Art & music resources; curriculum and materials for the art and music classes
  • Library & Technology maintenance; here is no budget for library books and tech software
  • P.E. equipment – Balls, helmets, jump ropes & more
  • Scholarships for fieldtrips, 5th grade camp, enrichment programs and day trips

Without money generously donated by YOU, many of the activities and programs in our school would not exist.

No set amount is expected, more importantly, we hope that every family will find a way to make an investment in our students with the largest contribution that works for their family budget; be it $5, $50 or $500.
Every single dollar makes a difference!!!

If you would like to make a donation today, please click the donate button at the top left of our PTSA blog. On behalf of the Maple PTSA, thank you!!!

English Language Arts Curriculum Adoption

Seattle Public Schools has initiated an adoption process for instructional materials to support reading and writing in grades kindergarten through 5. The adoption committee is comprised of teachers, parents and community members and is currently in round 1 of the adoption process. During round 1 we are looking at 10 curriculums and would like your feedback.

How to view materials for Round 1:

Community members, families, staff and others who wish to view materials submitted in the first round of the K-5 ELA Adoption Process may select from these options:

1. View materials in person. Vendor-provided texts and other materials will be on display during normal business hours in the second-floor professional library at the John Stanford Center until May 20. Ask at the front desk.

2. Access materials online. Visit the adoption website:

If approved by the Seattle School Board, the new materials will be put into use during the 2017-18 school year.
