Families are invited to provide input about the Parent/Teacher Conference Model for 2011-2013 school years

Survey available until 4:00P.M. on Monday, January 4

This survey will take only 2 to 5 minutes of your time.

Seattle Public Schools (SPS) is in the process of applying to the State Board of Education for a waiver to allow the three full-day parent-teacher conference schedule to continue. The three-day model replaces the prior model of seven half-day/early dismissals.

The goals of having a three-day focused conference schedule (three full days in November when students do not attend school, such as the three days prior to the Thanksgiving holiday break) include: increasing family participation in conferences, minimizing disruptions to families, providing continuous uninterrupted instructional time, and maintaining school day routines.

The three-day schedule does not impact the number of instructional hours that our students receive.

While we have received anecdotal feedback that families like the three-day schedule, we invite you to complete a survey on this topic so that we can more accurately assess your views.

The survey is available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Z8JGDDY

Please complete the survey by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, January 4. Responses will be summarized, posted on the website and shared with school board members. Thank you!

The Nurse's Office Needs Your Used Clothes

Bloody noses, bathroom accidents, falling in puddles...

We are in need of surplus clothing for students who come down to the office in order to change out of their wet pants or tops.

Pants are the most needed item. Socks and underwear is the 2nd priority.

We need more pants in sizes to fit the intermediate students. If you have any children outgrowing their clothes and plan to send them on to the 2nd hands stores, please think about Maple.
