English Language Arts Curriculum Adoption

Seattle Public Schools has initiated an adoption process for instructional materials to support reading and writing in grades kindergarten through 5. The adoption committee is comprised of teachers, parents and community members and is currently in round 1 of the adoption process. During round 1 we are looking at 10 curriculums and would like your feedback.

How to view materials for Round 1:

Community members, families, staff and others who wish to view materials submitted in the first round of the K-5 ELA Adoption Process may select from these options:

1. View materials in person. Vendor-provided texts and other materials will be on display during normal business hours in the second-floor professional library at the John Stanford Center until May 20. Ask at the front desk.

2. Access materials online. Visit the adoption website: seattleschools.org/cms/One.aspx?portalId=627&pageId=8880835

If approved by the Seattle School Board, the new materials will be put into use during the 2017-18 school year.
